The ~Paleoartists group is a relay for all the Deviants who are interested in the scientific discipline of palaeontology and the related branch of scientific illustration, palaeontography, vulgo "paleoart".

The group is intended to represent artwork representing a broad range of prehistoric animals, not just dinosaurs.

Announcement:

I've momentarily organized the club's deviations in the "Featured" pane of the club's gallery according to their authors and also created folders for the uncategorizable works. This is due to the fact that during the club's existence some of the members posted more submissions than is now allowed. As I don't feel like grandfathering these anymore due to the confusion that might cause for new members and also because I don't feel authorized enough to delete these olden deviations willy nilly, I'm asking the pertinent members to select the two (2) deviations they want to keep here. Then they should delete the rest of their work from the gallery, after saving them to their computer if they do so wish. Collaborative works and fossil photos are exempt from this. If after three months this is not done I'll use my best judgement in cleaning the gallery up.

Are most paleoartists free-lancers? Are there any central cooperations of scientific illustrators?

I'm looking for a six week internship project as a high school student and though I've always focused on paleontology, paleoart seems like a really interesting and useful branch off. Advise?
